What is a Kitchen Design Studio and what are the Advantages over a Conventional Showroom?

Kitchen design studio’s, offer a more stress free and enjoyable route to achieving your new kitchen with levels of service and attentiveness that’s far more in tune with your aspirations and personal requirements.

Many people are confused about the difference between a conventional showroom and a design studio. This blog aims to highlight both the differences and the advantages.

The Traditional Showroom Approachand its Issues

I think we all feel a combined sense of excitement as well as a certain degree of apprehension as we start to look at conventional kitchen showrooms. Our thoughts, often based on previous experiences, are of being pounced upon by eager - commissioned sales staff or perhaps the other extreme where we feel overwhelmed by choice with seemingly little support and experienced advice.

Regardless of a showrooms target market, the offering is usually limited to the displays on hand and their design service is only as good as the quickly sketched out floorplan and dimensions that you have in your pocket - and the limitations of both their cad design system and the young (and often inexperienced) person moving the mouse. Not a great way to embark on your kitchen journey and spending several thousands of pounds!

The Kitchen has Become the Most Important Room in the Home

and you Want it Just Right!

Whether it’s a small kitchen in a cottage, terrace or apartment or a large space that needs to tick ‘multiple use boxes,’ we all want maximum levels of functionality blended with that visual ‘WOW’ factor that makes our homes truly enjoyable places to live. Furthermore, we recognise that the kitchen has become the most important room to get right – should we ever decide to sell. Therefore, we don’t want a service with limitations; we want to work with people who will listen to our needs and who are experts in their craft.

The Design Studio Approach - It’s Geared to Today’s Consumer

and is a Much Smarter Way to Go

To put it in simple terms, the design studio approach is more about ‘what would you like?’ - rather than ‘you can have one of these!’

The design studio is for the more discerning, which lets face it, is most of us these days since regardless of the size of our homes and our budgets, we all want to invest in our properties, and we all recognise the benefits of a great kitchen space.

So, What Does a Design Studio

like ‘Codsall Kitchen Studio’ offer?

Ok, when you visit Codsall Kitchen Studio you will see various small ‘cameo’ displays. However, these are not the limitation of your choice. These, along with many door and worktop samples are purely visual aids for the professional design process that’s about to begin.

So, how does the process work?

  1. We listen!

We hear everything you have to say. We listen to your tastes and ideas about looks and finishes as well as your needs. Bring along ideas that appeal to you; this might be pages you have torn out of a magazine or images you have printed from the net.

Yes, bring along dimensions and room plans and imagery of your existing kitchen BUT DON’T WORRY, we never assume anything; we always do a professional site visit and survey to fully understand the space and what’s required.

2.  We Offer Professional Advice

Once we have discussed your ideas, your requirements and got a sense of your budget, Oliver, my son and I use our combined 70 years of experience to advise upon the best way forward.

3.  We Design a Tailored Solution…that’s Unique to You!

Using our many years of expertise and the very latest design technology, we come up with one or two possible solutions – but – we involve you and get your feedback; after all, it’s your kitchen!

At Codsall Kitchen Studio, you can have whatever you want. We can even combine furniture styles and finishes to great effect to create the look that’s just right for you – along with a room layout that offers everything you need by way of storage, work-surface area, cooking performance and seating. Furthermore, you know the concept will work in reality since we are highly trained kitchen designers with many years of experience ‘under our respective belts.’

4.      The Convenience of a ‘One – Stop – Shop’

In certain instances, we can offer ‘supply only’ for the competent DIYer along with everything that’s required, such as worktops and appliances OR we can offer you a service that encompasses building works, all trades, furniture fitting, appliances, worktops (to include stone) and accessories and decorating (painting, tiling, flooring).
